The increasing number of damage cases caused by tap water in Germany results in considerable work and costs for builders and insurers every year. A decisive factor after such an accident is the fast and effective drying of the water damage. Although there is a wide range of products available for drying buildings, so far relatively few scientific studies have been carried out either on the spread of moisture in buildings after water damage or on effective drying processes.
The need for research and development in this area has now been recognized. Insurance companies, as well as drying equipment manufacturers and renovation companies, are focusing on more effective drying systems in order to limit or lower repair costs. For its part, Fraunhofer IBP has conducted extensive investigations with various components and drying systems in the climate laboratory over the past few years. We offer this wealth of knowledge - together with a wide range of air-conditioning and testing equipment - to contractors and project managers looking to develop and test drying techniques and processes.
