A sound check for education - acoustically optimized learning environments

In educational institutions, there is often a constant battle with noise levels. This impairs communication and significantly disrupts teaching. In addition to the acute stress suffered by students and teachers, loud background noise can cause lasting health problems.

For this reason, our experts therefore conduct research on noise in teaching and learning spaces and work on new forward-looking acoustic solutions.

Benefit from our solutions

We offer a wide range of services for optimizing noise levels in learning and teaching rooms:

  • We attach great importance to well-planned room acoustics in order to lower the noise level
  • We have an overview of all available sound-absorbing building components on the market for use in schools and sports halls and are constantly working on ways to optimize their acoustic effectiveness, design and sustainability.
  • In addition to sound absorption, we also strive to reduce sound sources (e.g. by optimizing sports hall floors), increase sound insulation and decrease sound radiation (e.g. when balls hit the floor)
  • We achieve better speech intelligibility and lower noise levels by using customized components and designs
  • We work together with you to develop and optimize individual solutions to suit your needs and on-site acoustic conditions
  • We take into account our customers' requirements regarding materials, construction and design as we develop products
  • We work according to existing standards (e.g. DIN 18041) governing the design of room acoustics in teaching and learning spaces, which provide us with guidelines for acoustic parameters

To achieve our goal of better teaching and learning conditions, we are constantly researching into the necessary room acoustics parameters so that products are used optimally. In this context, subjective evaluation plays an essential role: it is an important tool for optimizing room acoustics in terms of user requirements. With this in mind, we cooperate with our colleagues from the field of “Cognitive Ergonomics and Psychoacoustics” and strive to play our part in improving the education of the future.
